World Cleanup Day will be taking place on September 19th 2020. With this date marks the start of the “ALL_TOGETHER GLOBAL CLEANUP” campaign from the Alliance to End Plastic Waste. Storopack has been involved with this global initiative, which aims to eliminate plastic waste from the environment, since 2019. Starting September 19th and running through October 4th 2020, Storopack will be strengthening its commitment on World Cleanup Day alongside members and companies around the world who are also taking part in the All Together Global Cleanup campaign. On World Cleanup Day and in the three weeks that follow; the Alliance, employees of its member companies and other organizations, other partners, and private individuals from around the world will be cleaning up their immediate environment as part of the campaign and removing even the smallest items of trash from the natural world.

Anyone can join the ALL_TOGETHER GLOBAL CLEANUP campaign and – provided that they observe social distancing regulations – pick up trash, and properly dispose of it in their leisure time. Get involved!

Cleanup initiatives are one of the four strategic pillars underpinning the mission of the Alliance to End Plastic Waste, as these specific measures raise awareness and bring people together.  The Alliance to End Plastic Waste – a nonprofit NGO that works with both governments and nongovernmental organizations in the areas of environmental and economic development, as well as other movements from around the world – works to promote solutions that effectively combat environmental pollution caused by plastic waste. Through a variety of programs and partnerships, the Alliance focuses on four key areas: Infrastructure, Innovation, Education & Engagement, and Clean Up.

Storopack already has experience of cleanup initiatives: the company has been supporting the international charity Big Blue Ocean Cleanup since 2018 and is the exclusive sponsor of the organization’s coastal cleaning program. For example, the company’s employees voluntarily take part in beach cleaning initiatives in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Benelux, removing microplastics and small plastic particles from beaches.
